Caring for Your Garment
A beautifully handcrafted garment deserves thoughtful care.
With the right care, your garment will continue to move beautifully and remain a treasured part of your wardrobe for many years to come.
While every fabric has been carefully selected for both its beauty and performance, the way you care for your garment will play an important part in preserving its appearance and extending its life.
-
We recommend washing your garment only when needed.
Always wash your garment separately in cold water using a mild detergent.
Gently hand wash your garment and do not leave it to soak. Once washing is complete, remove it from the water immediately.
Do not bleach, use harsh detergents or dry clean your garment, as these may affect both the fabric and its finish.
Avoid wringing the fabric. Instead, place your garment in the washing machine and use a gentle spin cycle to remove excess water.
Once the spin cycle is complete, remove your garment from the washing machine immediately and hang it to dry in the shade.
While the garment is still damp, you may gently smooth the fabric with your hands to help ease out wrinkles and encourage the fabric to fall naturally. Take care not to pull or stretch the fabric, seams or decorative finishes.
Do not tumble dry.
-
Most fabrics respond beautifully to a warm iron with medium steam.
For best results, iron your garment on the reverse side using an appropriate temperature for the fabric.
Always keep the iron moving gently across the fabric and never allow it to rest in one place, particularly when pressing the silk lining, as excessive heat may permanently damage the fabric.
Where your garment includes pearlescent, metallic or decorative finishes, always press from the reverse side and avoid applying direct heat to the decorative finish.
Many customers find that, when cared for thoughtfully, their garment requires very little ironing between wears.
-
Once completely dry, we recommend folding the waistband downwards in half and securing the folded waistband in the clips of a skirt hanger. This helps support the garment while hanging and reduces unnecessary strain on the waistband.
Allow your garment to air after wearing before returning it to your wardrobe.

Over time, all fabrics naturally soften and colours may gently fade with regular wear and washing.
Some fabrics feature pearlescent, metallic or decorative embellishments that add depth, texture and character to the design. With regular wear, these finishes will naturally soften and become more subtle over time.
Frequent washing, harsh detergents, excessive rubbing or abrasive surfaces may accelerate this natural ageing process.
These natural changes are part of the life of the fabric and reflect a garment that has been worn, enjoyed and thoughtfully cared for.
Gentle washing and thoughtful care will help preserve its beauty for as long as possible.

Simple, gentle care will help preserve both the fabric and the craftsmanship of your garment.
Treating your garment with care between wears, washing only when needed and following the care instructions provided with your individual garment will help maintain its graceful movement, beautiful appearance and exceptional comfort for many years to come.
